You must uninstall FoxyProxy Standard or FoxyProxy Basic before installing FoxyProxy Plus!
Thunderbird
FoxyProxy Plus is not supported with Thunderbird. Do not purchase FoxyProxy Plus if you plan to use it with Thunderbird.
SOCKS 4a/5 Authentication
FoxyProxy Plus does not perform SOCKS 4a/5 authentication. The username/password fields shown here are only used for HTTP(S) proxy servers.
Tell me about validation
When enabled, FoxyProxy Plus periodically connects to leahscape.com in order to validate your license. If validation fails or the connection cannot be made, a nag screen
is displayed.
You can prevent the nag screen by:
Entering a valid license key, email address, and permitting FoxyProxy Plus to validate this information at leahscape.com
Disabling FoxyProxy Plus either through Firefox's Addon Manager (requires a restart of Firefox), or through FoxyProxy Plus's "disable" mode
This validation step hopefully reduces unauthorized use of FoxyProxy Plus while not getting in the way or legitamite users.
What about validation when my license update period expires?
Your FoxyProxy Plus license includes a 1-, 2-, or 3-year update and bug fix period. When this period expires, we encourage you to renew your update period but no nag screen is displayed. Reasons to renew your update period are explained here.
What about validation when leahscape.com goes down?
There is more than one server behind leahscape.com. They are redundant and co-located in state-of-the-art data centers. In the unlikely event a server goes down, another one takes its place within seconds. There are also 5 DNS servers mirroring our DNS information across the globe. They are geographically distributed and redundant. The failure of one (or even two) of our DNS servers will not result in any substantial outage of our services.
The nag screen to check the license keeps popping up even though it says "valid" when checked.
This happens when FoxyProxy Plus cannot contact our servers to validate your license. The servers are contacted when Firefox first starts. FoxyProxy patterns are used to determine which proxy server to use to reach our servers. If this url is blocked by your internet provider, please be sure to add a pattern for FoxyProxy Plus to reach our servers through a proxy.
